Jewellery Making Workshop with Michelle Ross

  • Kimpton Saint George Hotel 280 Bloor Street West Toronto, ON, M5S 3B8 Canada (map)

Michelle Ross will share how her design process started and how it differs from many jewelers. Though her artistry has evolved, her process begins in the same way: with sourcing, searching and manipulating materials. The nature of materials, whether natural or man-made, directly influence the final design. She works with the drape, rigidity and movement of materials and their characteristics to help design each piece. This practice comes from her training in textiles and fashion design where the fibers or fabric used directly affects the quality, fit and feel of the piece. We want you to touch it, feel it and interact with it.

At this workshop, you will learn basic techniques through the use of vintage and antique components of your choosing. Once you've chosen the pieces that inspire you most, you can then create a unique pendant necklace or keychain.
